From time to time, vape shop owners ask me if they can embed the Steam Engine calculators on their site. I have usually declined, but I do see a demand for some kind of integration. Here is what I have come up with:

You can now add the URL to your site, an image, and a site name in the querystring when you link to Steam Engine.

Your logo will appear on the top of the page, and when the user clicks your logo they will be sent back to your site.

Parameters

The querystring parameters are as follow:

  • btUrl: The URL of your site.
  • btImg: The URL to an image of your choosing.
  • btNm: The name of your site.

The image and the name are optional, but I recommend you use them.

Click on the link to be sent to the juice calculator. When you click on the example image on top of the juice calculator, it will send you back to this page.

    Hello, sorry to post my question here as I’m not sure how else to get in touch.

    Ni80 Fused Clapton 3x28G/40G. 3mm ID. 6 Wraps.
    Steam Engine’s Wire Wizard says it should be 0.359Ω.

    However, I have tried several different coils with these specs from different sources and on different mods and atomizers and they all result in a ohm reading that is much higher, 0.45Ω – 0.48Ω.

    Is there an explanation for this? Steam Engine has been very accurate for other coil types so I’m just curious.

      It could be variations in the Ni80, the total thickness/diameter of the wire, the tightness of the wrap, or anything really. The combination of a somewhat low resistance and a relatively complex wire topology will quickly cause any small errors to start adding up.
